The first Istanbul Initiative Summit was held between 12 and 13 June 2019 in Istanbul with the participation of 21 leading NGO’s representatives from 15 different countries ranging from Sweden to Ghana, from Italy to the United States. The Istanbul Initiative was established by the Green Crescent in order to prevent addictions, to initiate new methods as well as to develop a global strategy through collective action. ‘’Istanbul Initiative Declaration’’ was signed by the leading representatives to meet the goals of a healthier and sustainable future. Consisting of 15 articles, the Declaration puts forward a global map and underlines the importance of collective actions shown by all stakeholders.
