The second Istanbul Initiative Summit was held on the 25th of June 2020 online due to COVID-19 precautions with the participation of 28 leading NGO’s representatives from 21 different countries. At the 2nd Istanbul Initiative, global strategies and international cooperation were debated. The Istanbul Initiative, which emerged in order to prevent addictions, to initiate new methods as well as to develop a global strategy through collective action, provided an international platform where representatives of divergent international civil society organizations shared their experiences with regards to tackling addictions and to contributing public health.
