The Sixth Summit of the Istanbul Initiative was held on October 23–24, 2025, bringing together 38 representatives from 32 NGOs across 30 countries worldwide. The summit featured enriching and dynamic discussions centered on the themes “Emerging Threats and Recovery” and “Policy, Coordination, and Future Strategies.”

The first Istanbul Initiative Summit took place on 10-11 June 2019. It was sponsored by the Green Crescent and co-sponsored by the Drug Policy Futures (DPF) as platform, which develops global strategies and lobbies for the prevention and recovery of Drug, Alcohol, Tobacco, Gambling and Technology addictions for the future generations and the benefit of humanity.
